Dr. Marion Lewis earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University. He also holds BA degrees from Indiana University (Optometry) and the University of North Florida (History). After graduation he received a commission in the U.S. Navy where he served 20 years as a Medical Service Corps officer. His Navy career provided him a broad range of experience in patient care in a variety of situations both at home and overseas.
After completing active duty with the Navy, Dr. Lewis went into private practice in South Orlando. He takes great pride in specializing in Family Practice, where on a given day he can care for toddlers, senior citizens, school children, and adults, using the latest equipment, techniques, and lenses. He is a long-time Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a designation given to knowledgeable and experienced professionals who have met high standards of competence in a broad range of eye care areas.
Dr. Lewis has made Central Florida his home for all of his adult life. He and his wife now live in Lakeland. Besides serving on two non-profit-organization boards of directors, in his free time he delights in family activities with his two grown children and six grandchildren. He enjoys music, photography, and woodworking; and is active in his church as leader of its worship band.
